Modeling Conjugated Polymer Actuator Materials
Collaborators: Elizabeth Smela, UMD

Basic physics modeling of CP materials, for the purpose of creating better materials and actuators. CPs are bio-compatible electroactive polymers (conducting plastics) that draw in ions from a liquid or gel to create large strain/stress actuation. As organic polymers, they are known to have extremely complex physics.
